Maria Devenney: I don't know how you would find out - however I do know that if you're renting a property that has gone into foreclosure they can NOT legally evict you (they won't even try) if you're on a lease until the lease is over. The bank has to wait until you end your lease in order to foreclose on the property. I wouldn't stress it to much, eventually there will be a Real Estate Agent who will come to your property & fill you in - but don't be worried about it, it won't effect your lease & you will not be evicted until your lease is up. Hope this helps!...Show more
Elinore Schlinker: there were advertisements from attorneys addressed to our landlord but nothig addressed to occupant that we could legally open. I forwarded all of my landlords mail to her. This is so screwed up...if it did go to auction then it means she knew it was going to when she rented the house to me at the end of April.... UGH!
Vernon Martorana: My neighbor said she saw the ad in t! he newspaper..... but she thought we knew so didn't say anything, and we just moved in and never looked at the over abundance of foreclosure notices in the paper. I can't find anything on my counties public record website.
Frank Crummell: Hum - you need legal advice here, fast. I'm not sure about Sitting Tenant status these days (and I should, we are renting), but you should have had some notice of foreclosure - there was a programme on this situation recently on TV (UK) where notices of foreclosure were sent to the property, and binned because they looked like innocent circulars. Might this have happened to you? Perhaps Citizens Advice can help you, but you do need qualified advice.Add - I don't want to alarm you but you could be evicted, again according to the programme. If the Bailiffs arrive, call a legal rep. before doing anything. But find out your status as fast as you can, so you know how to respond to anybody who arrives at your door....Show more
! Ira Porietis: Sorry, but your lease is valid until/when forecl! osure is complete, when court will void it.Merely entering foreclosure does not mean house will complete the foreclosure process. In MOST states, for a house to go up for auction it has to be advertised in legal notices in local papers and there are postings on the house it self, notices. Generally notices mailed also to occupants.
