Quick question about performing arts!!!!?

Forest Duttinger: No but you will generally be asked to audition unless you have been scouted. Going to a performing arts school is not a guarantee that you will get into a performing arts college either, but it doesn't hurt. The best way to get into a performing arts college is to find out exactly what their requirements are and make sure you meet them. References from teachers and a detailed resume of your performance experience doesn't hurt at all either. If you get a chance, talk to students who have auditioned and find out what performance pieces tend to impress the professors. It doesn't hurt to get to know the campus in advance and it helps quite a bit if you have a clear idea of why you want to go there and what you intend to get out of your time there. Think about what you can add to the campus as well. Professors tend to favor students who participate and give back....Show more

Toney Flaten: no if you study really hard and make good use of your voic! e lessons you have a chance

Emeline Albracht: no

Elmo Tervo: No, but it's definitely an advantage. I went to a performing arts high school, and it helps with getting into conservatories because you get a lot of experience, but most students at music conservatories have not been to performing arts high schools. Juilliard has a pre-college high school, there's Interlochen Arts Academy, and Idyllwild Arts Academy. There may be some other less known ones.

Vern Serratos: Not necessarily, in fact, I've never heard of a performing arts college that required a performing arts school as a prerequisite. I am a cellist, and I don't know if you are talking about theatrical arts or musical arts, so I'm more detailed on the side of musical performance. I know schools like Juilliard and the Curtis Institute have pre-college programs, but attendance is not required to apply to the college once you're of age. Prior experience and exposure help a good deal, but it all basic! ally depends on your natural born talent, motivation, work eth! ic, and determination to make the cut. In addition, performing arts schools can be ridiculously pricey, as with the p.a. colleges....Show more

Shon Almquist: Not exactly sometimes it soley depends on the college your trying to attend.
